Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge
Yesterday Bill & Jeanne Baker, Vinnie Collins, and I took a ride up to Montezuma NWR. Despite Vinnie plowing down a sweet little squirrel, we arrived safely around 9:00am. We drove through first. There were thousands of Canadian geese. We also saw many grebes, some shovelers, as well as a few heron, snow geese, ospreys, and eagles. There were even hundreds of carp congregating in the canal trying to reach the warm waters coming through the overflow of the swamp.
